This is the most demanding use case, and the one where suction power alone isn't enough to judge.

From 20,000–25,000 Pa, suction really starts lifting hair embedded in a rug. Beyond that, what truly makes the difference on long-pile rugs is the chassis: the Saros 20 Sonic carries the AdaptiLift 3.0, which Roborock claims collects 30% more on long-pile rugs than the previous generation.

You have lots of rugs

Two distinct problems: suctioning inside them, and not soaking them.

To suction well, you need power: from 20 000 Pa, the difference becomes noticeable on a thick rug. To avoid soaking them, the robot needs to lift its mop — a feature documented by most all-in-one dock models in this catalogue (Saros, Qrevo Curve, Qrevo Edge).

Our pick: the Qrevo Curv 2 Pro (749 €) for the balance between suction and price, or the Saros 20 Sonic if the rugs are long-pile and the budget allows.

You mostly have hard floors to mop

Here, the logic flips: suction becomes secondary, and the mopping system decides everything.

Classic rotating mops have a structural flaw: they load up with dirt and spread it back out until the next trip to the dock. The Qrevo Curv 2 Flow's SpiraFlow™ roller, by contrast, is rinsed continuously as it cleans — dirt is removed as it goes, a principle similar to what other brands call "roller" mopping.

You have clutter on the floor

Socks, light toys, small cables: this is the problem the Saros Z70 is, to date, the only model to address directly, thanks to its OmniGrip™ robotic arm, designed to grab these objects before the robot vacuums over that spot.

It's a deliberate trade-off: only 22 000 Pa (versus 36 000 Pa for the Saros 20 models), for a feature no other model in the range offers.

You live in an apartment

Don't overpay. In an apartment, you won't make use of the AdaptiLift chassis, the OmniGrip arm, or the 36 000 Pa of the Saros 20 models.

The Q10 S5+ at 250 € suctions at 10 000 Pa — as much as the S8 MaxV Ultra, sold for more than three times the price — and includes auto-empty. For a first robot or a modestly sized home, it's the best suction-to-price ratio in the whole catalogue.

You have the smallest budget

The Q7 L5+ at 200 € is the entry price of the whole Roborock range we track: 8 000 Pa and auto-empty included, with a flat mop (neither vibrating nor rotating) — the clearest limitation of this model.

The question of budget

A useful benchmark: between the Q10 S5+ (250 €) and the Qrevo Curv 2 Pro (749 €), the price gap mainly buys more sophisticated mopping and moderately better suction. Above 800 €, you're paying for comfort features (sonic mop, robotic arm, obstacle-clearing chassis) that only have value if your home specifically calls for them.
